SPEAKERS

Representative Giovanni Capriglione

Texas District 98, Chairman of the House Committee on Pensions, Investments & Financial Services

​​Representative Capriglione is the owner and president of his own small business, Texas Adventure Capital, LLC which provides business services to various investment fund managers and business owners.  He was elected to the Texas House of Representatives in 2012 and is serving his 7th term representing District 98.  In addition to chairing the House Committee on the Delivery of Government Efficiency, he also serves on the House Committee of Ways and Means as well as the permanent subcommittee on Property Tax Appraisals.  After receiving his BA in Physics, he pursued his MBA in Finance from Santa Clara University. 

 

Bill Lauderback

Strategic Advisor, Texas Stock Exchange

Mr. Lauderback is a veteran public affairs professional with a deep knowledge of Texas.  He served for eight years as Executive Vice President for public affairs at the Texas Lower Colorado River Authority.  He also brings over three decades of corporate affairs experience as Senior Advisor at Hill+Knowlton Strategies and Executive Vice President of corporate affairs at Momentum Securities/E*TRADE Financial Corporation.  Mr.  Lauderback has also held senior roles in both federal and state government.  He earned his undergraduate and graduate degrees in business from the University of Texas.

Glenn Hamer

CEO, Texas Association of Business

​Mr. Hamer came to TAB after 14 years as CEO of the Arizona Chamber of Commerce & Industry.  A torchbearer for the business community, he has a proven track record for success in the public policy arena.  He connects businesses, small and large, with lawmakers on both sides of the aisle to protect Texas’ pro-business climate.  He testified before the 87th Legislature and made meaningful contributions to the passage of top legislative priorities for the business community.  Mr. Hamer is a graduate of Cornell University and Arizona State University’s College of Law. 

Kevin McGlynn

Director, RIA West, VanEck Securities Corporation

Mr. McGlynn joined VanEck in 2017 as an ETF Specialist responsible for the West Cost territory covering the financial advisor’s channel for the VanEck exchange-traded funds.  His earlier career experience includes Sales Director for Schroders Investment Management; Vice President and Sales Director for Innealta Capital; and various roles at Mass Mutual, Smith Barney, and Morgan Stanley.  He has a BA in Economics from San Diego State University. 

Tessa Zavala

Consultant

Ms. Zavala is a lawyer whose practice focuses on government affairs.  Previously, she served for twelve years as general counsel to some of the highest positions in the Texas House of Representatives.  This provided her the opportunity to build strong, trusted relationships with legislators, agency officials and staff.  She is recognized for straightforward policy advice, creative strategic solutions and thorough institutional knowledge of the legislative process.  She has a BA from the University of Texas at Austin and her J.D. from the University of Arkansas.
